  • Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to recognize physiological deterioration or potential physiological deterioration of of the adult patients with in the acute areas of the hospital. Utilizing the electronic vital sign scoring systems as a tool to highlight deterioration on all the wards, along with advanced assessment skills and diagnostic reasoning
  • High levels of communication skills are required in this position for across the multidisciplinary teams, including the critical care complex intensivists directly to either enhance care on the wards or to initiate an ICU admission, or if appropriate palliation.
  • As a key member of the Medical emergency team (MET) our role is to support the other members of this team in ensuring that the correct treatment is initiated with the least delay as possible, and to also ensure any particular speciality teams are also involved if required. This may be a medical emergency, surgical emergency, cardiac or respiratory arrest, or an airway emergency
  • The socio-economic area of Counties Manukau is very diverse, but also has a high percentage of Maori and pacific peoples. Therefore the principles of the Tiriti o Waitangi are an integral part of our day to day work and therapeutic relationships with our consumers of the health service.
