Dedicated and compassionate professional with a diverse background in arts, community engagement, and customer service, seeking a Case Manager position at the Ministry of Social Development. I studied at Elam School of Fine Arts from 1998 to 2001, where I developed strong creative and problem-solving skills. My experience as a receptionist at Ponsonby A&E equipped me with the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations involving a diverse range of individuals, particularly those in vulnerable circumstances.
In 2007, I co-founded a design studio and retail space in Kahungungu, Hawke's Bay, which served as both a commercial venture and a community hub. This role allowed me to build lasting relationships within the community and support local artists. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I successfully transitioned our business to an online platform while maintaining a focus on collaboration and community support, embodying the principles of manakitanga.
Recently, I relocated to Auckland to support my youngest child’s educational journey at Ngā Puna o Waiorea Western Springs High School. I then took on a management role at Nature Baby Newmarket, where I gained valuable insights into larger business operations and data analytics, all while fostering a community-oriented environment.
As a 51-year-old Ngāti Kahungungu mother of three and grandmother of two, I am deeply committed to family values and community well-being. The recent birth of my grandchild, Aio Te Ata, has further inspired me to serve my community. I am eager to leverage my skills and experiences to advocate for and support families in need, contributing to the important work of the Ministry of Social Development.
