Dedicated and passionate soon to graduate becoming teacher, looking for full-time work in the primary sector. Born in Northland and grown up in West Auckland, I currently I live with my husband and two daughters in Whangaripo Valley. My goal to teach has grown from the desire to give and be part of a community; being part of a team guiding ākonga learning, growth and wellbeing.

Through-out my study in learning and teacher I acknowledge and respect the importance of building and maintaining positive relationships with ākonga, their whanau and surrounding community. This relationship is one that acknowledges and celebrate each ākonga individuals strengths and culture, making a classroom that is inclusion to all diversity. This is the foundation that will support my future teaching practice. From here I will learn and teach using a strength based approach, allowing the ākonga to influence their education, developing an education that is meaningful for them.
“People feel good about education if it satisfies at least two basic criteria: firstly, if it holds up a mirror to them and they can see themselves growing and developing in a way that is meaningful for them; and secondly, if it helps them to project themselves into the immediate world around them as well as into the world at large”.
