Summary

I have been teaching in Early Childhood education for 29 years with short breaks while I was on maternity leave. I have experience of 10 years as the Supervisor of a private centre until I left to join the Auckland Kindergarten Association. I have been employed with the AKA for the past 12 years and began at Laingholm Kindergarten as lunch cover with a focus to eventually secure a teaching position at Titirangi Kindergarten. I have now been a permanent teacher here for 8 years. In 2019 I was asked to be Person Responsible of the kindergarten 4 days a week, which I was happy to accept; it was in January 2020 when I was asked to become AHT of Titirangi Kindergarten, with the support of the families and teaching team.

Since then, I have successfully lead a team for the past 18 months using my experience and organizational skills effectively to ensure the smooth running of the kindergarten. I have built solid and trusting relationships with all the families of the kindergarten through excellent communication and providing a welcoming, safe and enjoyable learning environment for their children.
