As a Senior Consultant for Planit, I worked with NZ Police as a Senior Test Manager, I helped to ensure the successful implementation of Operational Workflow platform and align the Workflow Operating Model to the new ICT operating model that will enable a faster, more accurate, and smarter way of doing business and provide a better and more consistent user and customer experience. The first phase has been successfully delivered and it was about automate the management and processing of non-emergency cases.

After the successful delivery of first use case, we commenced with the second use case which is about moving Frontline Management inboxes from Outlook exchange into Appian Workflow

· Develop test strategy, automation best practice and test plan documents.

· Participate in project planning and estimation activities.

· Manage and maintain test environments and test data.

· Design and implement manual and automated test scripts.

· Design and execute API test scripts using Postman.

· Stakeholder communication and management.

· Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and Sprint Testing Activities.

I was engaged as a Senior Test Manager with NZ Police, where I played a role in ensuring the successful implementation of enhanced security and resilience measures. The project aimed to collaborate with NZ Police Partners and Service Providers to bolster the Police's ability to secure shared information across Government Agencies, Partners, and the public. This initiative is part of the broader Cyber Security and Resilience Programme, leveraging a global vendor's capabilities to facilitate safe and secure information management.

I led the testing efforts for the cloud deployment to Microsoft 365, specifically utilizing E5 licenses. The outcome was a significant increase in Police security compliance, enabling long-term capability and providing business users with secure data transfers across Government Agencies. This also improved the logging of data access and use, enabled auto-classification of data in line with Government classifications, and facilitated efficient information management systems.

· Test management of several projects in Cyber Security Resilience Program. The following Microsoft E5 Security capabilities have been delivered

o Sentinel, Defender for Identity, Privileged Identity Management, Advanced Audi, Customer Lockbox, AppGuard for Office, Privileged Access Management, MS Defender for Endpoint, Cloud Access Security Broker, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Cloud Apps

o Implementation of FortiSOAR – Security Orchestration, Automation and Response platform

· Test process improvement for the cyber security programme

· Developing test strategy and test plans including indicative schedule for deliveries and estimation for resources and time.

· Helping to identify risks and to maintain risk mitigation for security controls.

· Leading cyber security specialists to perform user acceptance testing

· Assessing and selecting the test tools to be used for functional and non-functional testing

Leading defect triage meetings with vendors and technical teams

As a Test Program Manager at Civil Aviation, I validated the implementation of a regularity versatile modular system (EMPIC-EAP) which covers all aviation regulation requirements including Licensing, Aircraft Technical Areas and a central module for case and customer management.

I provided test management activities including administrating and configuring JIRA workflow with X-Ray plug-in to enable development team delivery in BDD mode.

I defined scope and levels of testing required then created BDD framework. I worked closely with business users to define acceptance criteria

The result was delivery of a quality roadmap for the programme, set-up of dedicated testing team, BDD framework and winning the engagement of primary business users.

As a Test Capability Manager at NZ Police, I managed to deliver several projects including e-mail migration to Microsoft Exchange Online cloud, Windows 10 upgrade and implementation of new facial recognition system. In addition, I provided people management to 8-10 QualIT test professionals by mentoring their delivery in NZ Police account and helping them to grow in their career.

Email migration to Online Cloud Exchange involved ensuring all mail functionalities were behaving as expected after migrating, validating that applications which are currently integrating with Exchange continue to operate, and ensuring data integrity during the migration. The result was successful migration to the cloud exchange without interrupting day to day activities.

Windows 10 Upgrade involved identifying and testing of all core and common applications, integration testing with MS office, and testing of 30+ user subscribed applications. The result was a completed Windows 10 upgrade for thousands of end users on time and within budget.

The implementation of new facial recognition system helped reduce investigation time and prevented crime and victimisation rates by providing a significantly higher level of success at identifying suspects/offenders leading to early perpetrator intervention and identifying missing persons. Testing efforts covered working with business users to deliver enhanced business requirement, managing overseas vendor and working with overseas development team. We completed function testing, system integration testing, and data migration for hundreds of thousands of records, as well as UAT, performance testing, and security penetration testing. The results were successful implementation of the new system and satisfied end users.

As a technical test manager at, I helped completing the application rationalization process across the Ministry.

Using Microsoft Desktop Analytics cloud based services, all terminals were scanned to provide insight reports for stakeholder to take informed decisions.

I then led a wide UAT phase working with several District Health Boards and Ministry of Health business units, including Payroll and HR, to ensure their day-to-day activities won’t be impacted by implementation of rationalization processes.

As a Test manager at Civil Aviation, I developed all testing artefacts from creating test strategy and test plans to detailed test cases, completed test execution and exit test reports. This was followed by guiding HR and payroll super users to complete UAT phase and managing defect triaging sessions with the development team. The result was building confidence in the new configured system and helping to deliver high quality and secured platform for HR and Payroll teams.

As a test programme manager at NZ Transport Agency, I participated in delivering Smart Weigh project. The goal was reducing illegal overloading of heavy vehicles. The project includes complex integration between software and hardware equipment with the challenge of performing site acceptance testing in real weighing site. The testing types and phases included: Factory, Unit, System, System Integration, E2E, UAT, Security, Network, Performance and Site Acceptance Testing.

Mixed delivery methodologies have been used; scrum agile and automation scripts for the core vehicle screening system and V-Model with strict entry and exit criteria for other types of testing. The result was delivering an enhanced and smart way to identify the overloading heavy vehicles aligned with organization focus area by keeping people safe and improving customer experience.

As a test lead at New Zealand Government Shared Services, I helped the successful delivery of National Emergency Mobile Alert system. In case of national emergency or hazards, authorised emergency agencies can use the system to send alerts from targeted mobile cell towers to capable mobile phones. Alerts can be targeted to areas affected by serious hazards. All New Zealand telecommunication operators participated in the project with European vendor which was providing the core alerting system.

I performed different testing roles in the project, creating test plan, traceability matrix with detailed test cases, executing test cases and working closely with overseas vendor and telco companies to resolve any issues. I was the main contact point between business stakeholders, overseas development vendor and telecommunication operational companies. The result was the successful implementation of a robust and reliable system which proved its importance in many cases during serious hazards, for instance sending COVID-19 lockdown announcements.

The result was successful delivery of projects within time and budget and maintaining strong relationship with Vodafone clients under Enterprise account.

I managed all testing activities for Vodafone group mobile broadband products, implemented in all Vodafone branches all over the world in more than 28 countries and serving over 2 million end users.

I managed to set up new testing team and establish a roadmap and strategy to maintain high quality products being delivered on time.

My role was a mix between getting involved in daily testing activities, mentoring testing team members, managing relationships with vendors and providing regular reporting to senior management.

The result was successfully delivering connectivity solutions across hybrid and complex environments and helping achieve the expected growth and revenue.

The result was successful delivery of several e-government projects and building a centre of excellence for non-functional testing services in Cairo Lab.
