  • Ensure the production schedule is achieved and the product is manufactured to correct quality standards and KPI's and including departmental labour efficiency monitoring and improvement.
  • Provide strong and consistent management direction to staff engaged in the planning, coordination, monitoring and reporting on programs of maintenance works and projects to ensure that they are delivered on budget, on time, to the agreed quality and scope and in a professional and business-like manner, meeting weekly and monthly DIFOTIS.
  • Ensure all team leaders & production operators are adequately trained to perform expected tasks.
  • TOC (Theory of Constraints) is used as a company strategy to achieve a certain daily throughput value base on production and plant capacity planning.
  • Ensure lean is used for continuous improvement in all departments, such as faster, cheaper and better way of manufacturing by monitoring OEE and review of downtime by use of Six Sigma methodologies.

  • I was given the opportunity to transform the service operation from a cost centre focussed on repairs and warranty claims to a profit centre making a healthy profit.
  • Customers were mainly New Zealand based utility power companies such as Vector, Northpower, Electrix, Top Energy, Well Network, Mighty River Power.
  • Grew the service operation from an expense overhead (Cost Centre) to a turnover of $1.2m in less than 2 years.
  • Introduced customer service contracts.
  • Pro-actively managed relationships with existing customers at engineer or procurement manager level.
  • Ensuring the continuity of supply to customers by planning, maintaining, repairing /servicing and refurbishment works in accordance with policies, directives, standards, procedures, work, practice, guidelines and service agreements, on the electrical networks.
