Public Speaking

From 2019 I have attended Public Speaking lessons with Mrs Edith James, working my way through the Speech New Zealand Speech and Drama Syllabus. I have completed six exams from grade three onwards achieving results from Merit plus to the highest level of Honours plus. I am currently focusing on module three of Grade six where I aim to achieve another result of Honours or above as I did with the other two modules in 2022. I will then continue onto the six modules of Grade seven and eight, with the goal of completing grade eight by the end of my secondary schooling. By achieving these high results it has given me the confidence and ability to participate in events that utilise my talents such as School Events, Public Speaking Competitions and School productions.

Small Business Owner

I owned a scrunchie business, where I learned to sew scrunchies, promote my products on social media, sales management, customer service, resource ordering and stocktaking as part of a school project based learning project.

50% of my profits went towards local charities such as a Happy 2 Help - a lunch for kids programme, Woman's Refuge and the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul to assist those in need.

I closed this business due to other commitments, but all the high and low moments have given me skills I still use to this day.
