Planting and pruning is a job formally known as Silviculture. My main job description is to prune trees clear of branches and knots preparing them to be harvested for clear wood. Pruning requires working at height on ladders. Good judgment , decision making and safety conscious are a must. This would undertake throughout spring, summer and autumn and would switch to tree planting in the winter. Planting is a vital part in the forestry industry that involves planting trees. Restarting the growth to continue its process to provide in the silviculture industry and all main forestry work. Through all types of terrain you would carry one box at a time containing 100 seedlings. Cultivating and planting as you go meeting the requirement goal of 8-10 boxes a day. Both types of work required you to be physically fit and strong. Prepared to work outdoors in all weather on all types of terrain. Both types of work involved early morning starts and sometimes long travel distances and working as part of a team. Often based on 'piece rates' meaning the harder you work, the more you get paid.
