King cooling where i started my apprenticeship in 2016 was a company doing a wide variety of air conditioning and refrigeration work. In the 2 years i worked there i learned all the basic skills required.
I was installing domestic and light commercial units such as hi wall, ducted systems and cassette units. In refrigeration I was installing/building walk in chiller and freezer rooms, installing farm refrigeration such as vat refrigeration and glycol water chillers. I was doing work at cafes and meat works servicing/repairing their refrigeration equipment.
We also done servicing and maintenance on all units we installed and new clients we received.
Then I went to work at all seasons air conditioning, where they mainly specialize in commercial air conditioning installations.
I was mainly on big commercial sites installing vrfs, fresh/ tempered fresh air, extract systems, hybrid vrfs, duct work.
Most of my jobs would have a time frame from 6 months to a year.
With installs we done all the work required:
Installing drain
Installing copper pipe work
Installing duct work
Fit off
Program systems
Commission units
Install interconnecting/signal cables.
I also done a fair share of domestic installs In-between commercial jobs
Installing hi walls, ducted units and cassette units.
Also on occasion had to complete commercial maintenance work.
I wanted to be more well rounded in the industry as a tradesman and decided to join Eastside where I currently work as a service technician.
My daily service jobs include diagnostics /repairs of air conditioning equipment ranging from domestic units to commercial systems.
Diagnostics/ repairs of refrigeration systems ranging from small cafes/businesses to commercial sites. Including refrigerated containers.
I help out with installation work either domestic or commercial when required.
Servicing of refrigeration/air conditioning equipment.
Being part of an on call roster.
Also occasionally helping out with maintenance when required.
