Work History

Senior Project Engineer

Te Ahu a Turanga Manawatu Tararua Highway Project, HEB Fulton Hogan Alliance, $560M, Senior Project Engineer

Managing a team of up to 11 engineers and a site crew of up to 70 people delivering the construction of a 300m long four span Balance Cantilever Bridge across the Manawatu River worth $90M.

Transmission Gully Project, CPB HEB Joint Venture, PPP, June 2015 to June 2020, $850M, Senior Project Engineer

Responsible for planning and executing the projects flagship structure being the Cannons Creek Bridge or more commonly known as Bridge 20. Br20 is a three span, 226m long, 60m high, incrementally launched box girder superstructure valued at $42M. Promoted to SPE by July 2018.

Cambridge Bypass Project, $130M, Project Engineer

Responsible for the planning and construction of the 200m long, 4 span Karapiro Viaduct bridge. Construction consisted of piled foundations, pile caps and twin 2.6m diameter columns up to 36m tall that support the 520t pier heads. Superstructure consisted of weathering steel girders that were erected in-situ. Precast deck panels for composite deck construction.

Graduating WINTEC I worked on various small projects as a Site Engineer. During this time, 10 months was spent on the Kopu Bridge Replacement Project. Responsibilities mostly temporary works related for in-situ girder splicing.

Four months in 2013 I was involved in the Transmission Gully tender where i developed methodologies, temporary works and lift plans for the 28 structures.

Fitter Welder B - Heavy Fabrication

05.1998 - 10.2005

Worked for Smithbridge as a Senior Site Welder in New Zealand, Australia 2 years and Guam 2 years. Works related to building various temporary works in the workshop then site assembly. Moving to only site based welding work included splicing pile casings, implementing temporary works and general site fabrication including crane jib repairs.

  • Building the form travellers for the Otira Viaduct project.
  • Building a 450ton capacity crane from Bailey Bridge panels
  • Relocating 4x 450ton petroleum tanks ex Marsden Point to Mt Maunganui.
  • Building precast molds for PJK box girder, hollow core beams & super tee beams
