Summary

In my current position as Team Manager, I find fulfillment and face challenges that contribute to my growth and skill development. The Centre for Trades at Wintec is where I excel in managing a teaching team, guiding them through local strategic changes and adapting to shifts in the education sector at a national level. The wide range of responsibilities my team handles includes delivering on-site pre-trade programs, apprenticeship programs, and online programs for students across New Zealand. As the Manager, I take responsibility for ensuring the team possesses the necessary skills to provide a relevant and inclusive learning experience. Collaboration is key as we work towards our collective goals, which sometimes involves addressing performance concerns and engaging in difficult conversations. Regular meetings provide a platform for attentive listening, enabling me to proactively support my team. I strongly believe in the power of teamwork and actively collaborate with individuals at all levels to achieve our shared objectives. Self-reflection is essential in my role, as I continuously seek improvement by learning from each interaction. In terms of leadership style, I prioritize inclusiveness and collaboration, steering the team towards success while recognizing that assertiveness may be required in certain instances.
