· Assigned to be responsible in coordinating with the network asset owner personnel in assessing different types of distribution transformers, circuit breakers, magnefix units, HV regulators that comes back from the field weather they are going to be maintained, disposed or put on hold based on their current book value and cost to maintain.
· Responsible for Zone Substation distribution (66-11kv 25MVA) transformer assembly, major leak repair and replacement of defective parts and devices following manufacturers OEM recommendations ranging from evacuation of oil, de gasification of transformer oil while being repaired, and vacuum filling either in half or full vacuum after being repaired or maintained.
· Responsible for yearly audit and stock take of dangerous goods and substances, equipment testing and tag every 3 monthly period, oil disposals, oil processing orders, repair and maintenance of oil processing & vacuum equipments, orders and procurements of transformer bay stock items and gaskets.
· Leading Hand role in different types of jobs that includes planning, organizing, Scheduling, assembling, installing, testing, training/coaching apprentices, maintaining and repair of electrical equipment.
· Responsible for 66kv, 33kv, 11kv transformer change, refurbishment and install or replace existing switchboard/control cabinets including oil pump soft starter units in Zone Substations.
· Carry out electrical wiring and electrical fitting jobs in high voltage switchyard, district substation, network substation, kiosks and multilink boxes.
· On a routine stand by doing Orion Operating for low voltage no power call out that deals directly with asset owner customer in replacing mains entry box, temporary power supply cables when existing underground cable is faulty, visual check, polarity test to prevent transposition of live and neutral and issuance of certificate of compliance to the customer. And substation stand by attending high voltage fault callout picking up information on peek mobile device, picking up isolation steps and permits to work on faulty equipment, sign in work party members. By referring to substation schematics and technical drawings in pinpointing exact location of fault, either repair or replace, return permit and pick up restoration steps. Always working safely and effectively regardless of any conditions (day or night, wet or dry, floods and earthquakes).
· Responsible for the assembly, repair, troubleshooting, maintenance and half-life servicing of Oil Immersed Transformers ranging from 15KVA to 25MVA with primary supply voltage of 66kv, 33kv and 11kv.
· Executes repair and replacement of overhead lines insulators, guys, isolation fuses for residential and industrial customers in the network and street light installation and repair on power poles and street lighting poles.
· Maintains, operates and repairs transformers, HV ring main units, substation battery banks and switchyard equipment (electric fence, eco stop, smoke alarms, switch yard lightings, bunding alarms, insect killer, rat poison stations, heaters and fans) on routine maintenance schedule programs.
· Collect oil samples in zone substation transformers for dissolve gas analysis, visual checks on substation equipments defects and reports them in preparation for next zone substation maintenance on specific site.
· Routine maintenance of air break isolator switches, disconnector switches, circuit breaker contact in oil immersed units, line up and adjust vacuum breakers contact to OEM specifications, maintains, repair, install motor control units for substation de watering pumps.
· Perform task in replacing damaged underground customers mains entry cable, street light cables which also include laying out supply cable from LV kiosk cabinets to boundary boxes termination (gelports and distribution customer fusses) on new built residential subdivisions.
· Assigned to perform minor and major maintenance on 33kv and 66kv transformer which includes testing of all auxiliary alarms wirings such as main tank pressure switch, bucholtz, low oil alarm, high, critical and trip temperature alarm and on tap changer low oil alarm, bucholtz, manual/ auto test of tap changer control circuits. Cleaning of switch yard insulators, air break switches and transformer bushings.
· Doing 4 yearly maintenance of high voltage oil immersed circuit breaker, oil switch, air brake isolators and MSU magnefix units.
· Performs high voltage and low voltage isolation and restoration procedure in switching to pick up an access permit and work permit on peek mobile device, and complete report on SAP mobile platform.
· Supervise on site other non-electrical contractors doing works in high voltage switchyards and district substation and being a safety observer whenever it is required.
· Performs transformer oil treatment program on switchyard site using Trojan or Vokes Streamline filter for those transformers that is scheduled for oil processing maintenance on substation sites.
· Conducts transformer/circuit breaker oil processing in lowering the moisture content, increasing breakdown value to asset owner standard.
· Assigned to move transformers and other types of switchgears inside the yard having a forklift endorsement license to operate machinery.
· Update 6 monthly stock take on electrical spares, dangerous goods on transformer bay workshop.
· Performs oil technician job and operates 66kv de gassing processing trucks that is being used in 66kv oil filled cables during repairs and maintenance on asset owner oil filled cables. Performs dissolve gas analysis procedures before joints are made, Impregnation test and fill including flow test at the end of each cable joints.
· Performs HV line patrol in urban / rural areas and closing 11kv drop out fuses to restore back power supply to network customers.
· Performs half-life maintenance on High Voltage on load tap changer contacts on Ferranti, Tyree and ABB Transformers by replacing stationary contact, moving contacts, limit switches, lid gaskets and tap changer oil change according to network owners specifications.
· Always check for job roster work ahead of time to prepare and organize proper tools and equipment, resources, extra manpower, technical drawings for proper blocking procedures, correct equipment for isolation and restoration procedures, location and weather.
· Performs glove and barrier testing jobs on 5kv up to 75kv high voltage test on electrical equipment and personal protective equipment used in various electrical works in the field.
