I am widely traveled and have experience with many different cultures. My most recent interesting travels took me to China and India to act as personal assistant in trade negotiations. I have completed Intercultural training with AFS student exchange and hosted many students of different nationalities over the past 15 years and enjoy continuing relationships with them and their natural families. I can speak enough Italian and French to order food, book a hotel and find a toilet :) I have excellent English and very basic Te Reo Maori.

I have lived in Patea for the past 30 years and attended high school in Feilding, Okato and Patea. I have been a champion of education since 2003 when I campaigned for the continuation of schooling in Patea and was elected to the Patea Area School Board shortly thereafter for 3 consecutive terms. I served two terms (elected 2013 and 2016) as an elected member in local government, one as deputy chair.
