Malo e Lelei,

I am a recent graduate of the University of Otago and am seeking employment within the the New Zealand Police Force. I have received a Bachelors Degree in the field of science, in which I majored in Sport and Exercise Science and minored in Criminology.

I am someone who enjoys working outdoors, independent or with people and would always give 100% to any task that is required of me. I thrive in learning new skills, extending my knowledge and gaining new experiences. I have acquired confidence, knowledge and experience in my identity as a Pasifika individual through the development of relationships with my community throughout my years both in Palmerston North and Dunedin.

I am confident that I can be a valued member to any team and a great asset towards helping Aotearoa thrive towards a safer future.

I pride myself in the fact that I've been raised in a great Tongan community, because of the hard-working ethics I've cultivated from my parents, the determined ability to ensure things are done correctly and effectively, as well as many other qualities such as humility, respect and the importance of honesty, diligence and working with integrity.

I intend to use my qualification to develop relationships with the younger generation to help diminish the rise of offending here in Aotearoa.

• Can-do attitude, I am a very optimistic person and have developed an ability to immediately draw the positives from different situations and circumstances. Thus, I have a 'can-do' attitude in that I always have the mindset of knowing that I can and have the skills to do something, as opposed to being doubtful and negative. I love a good challenge and due to my background as a sports person and being captain and player of various team, I bring experience in working and playing as a team to the table. I believe that team work is about encouraging, supporting and empowering each other to be the best that they can be.
• Values, I believe and try to show my values in everything I do. I believe integrity, respect, humility and diligent are values that everyone should live by. I believe these sets of values can ensure rules are followed and tasks are completed. These values also reflect who I am as a person, a Christian and a Tongan.
• Sociable, Through my heavy involvement in school community, and sports team as well as in the strong ties I have with my local Tongan community, I've developed strong social skills in that I can relate to people from all walks of life.
