I am a hardworking and reliable individual with a strong background in agriculture and machinery operation. Raised on a family farm in the mighty North Island, gaining hands-on experience with livestock, general farm work, and practical problem-solving skills from an early age. I have spent three seasons in Australia operating a large range of agricultural machinery, including seeding, earthmoving, harvesting equipment, and everything in between. Along with operating, I've spent a significant amount of time in the workshop carrying out maintenance and repairs, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Known for being a quick learner, safety-conscious, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team in demanding rural environments. Therefore, I am now looking for an opportunity to pursue my passion on the tools.
Carried out all aspects of agricultural fencing across a variety of rural properties. Responsibilities included constructing and repairing post-and-wire fences, installing gates, strainer assemblies, and electric fencing systems. Operated fencing machinery and power tools, managed materials on-site, and worked in all weather conditions to meet project deadlines. Gained experience in reading farm plans, problem-solving on uneven terrain, and working independently or as part of a team to deliver high-quality, durable fencing solutions for clients.
I spent three months ( Hay/Harvest ) working as a machine operator in Australia, spending most of my time in the cab or in the workshop. My role involved running and maintaining a range of different machines, ensuring they operated safely. I gained hands-on experience with various equipment, and developed strong problem-solving skills while keeping production on track.
Bailing is a job I thoroughly enjoy, as there is no GPS equipment required, keeping you on your toes in the cab. I was operating large-scale agricultural machinery to successfully bale over 8,000 bales during the season. Worked long hours in demanding conditions, ensuring efficient and high-quality baling operations. Spent extensive time in the workshop carrying out machinery maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to keep equipment running smoothly. Developed strong mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid work ethic through hands-on experience in large-scale farming operations.
Mainfreight was a great opportunity to set foot in the working world. I was working 4-hour shifts, 4 days a week. My role included assisting with daily freight operations. Responsibilities included safely operating forklifts to load and unload freight, sorting loose items, checking freight for accuracy and damages, and managing paperwork to ensure smooth dispatch and delivery processes. Developed strong attention to detail, time management, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Machines I can confidently operate
I enjoy spending time outdoors with hobbies such as hunting, footy, fishing, diving, and skiing. I recently ticked off at a Muay Thai camp in Thailand, which has developed strong discipline, focus, and physical fitness, and I am passionate about adventure and staying active through a variety of challenging and rewarding activities.
As Stated, Im currently working on the Peninsula fencing and will be continuing this role for the next few months. After this, I will be heading to Australia for another season with Green and Gold Contracting, before returning to Christchurch early next year. I am highly motivated to take on this apprenticeship opportunity and believe I have the skills, work ethic, and practical experience to be the right person for the role.
I look forward to hearing from you
Regards
