Regional Management Accountant

  • Being part of OT Finance Business Partnering Team with allocated portfolio to cover Oranga Tamariki Auckland SCAF Regions, my primary work responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the Auckland Regional Management Teams in their financial decision making
  • Supporting Regional Managers in their annual business planning process
  • Supporting budget managers and front-line staff's financial enquiries and training needs, including undertaking budget manager financial delegation training, workplace administrators financial clinics
  • Budget setting and forecasting as realistically and accurately as possible, partially using activity-based costing model
  • Monthly reporting including financial and non-financial data and analysis for Budget Managers
  • Through many years of focus on supporting my major customers, I believe I have built strong and effective working relationship with my major stakeholders. The relationships have enabled me to be able to collect useful business insight on evolving changes of spending, helping analysis on care investments, provide valuable contribution and advice to both of finance team and frontline, in areas of financial process, internal control improvements,
  • Proven records of helping front-line staff in problem solving, e.g. day-to-day financial enquires, process, or big ticket items like supplier overpayments and recovery, policy compliance and education, fraud prevention etc.
  • Worked well a team environment, providing support and coaching to new team members. I do enjoy the close working relationship within our Regional Management Accountants group - we supported each other .
  • Participated in the early stage of the new FMIS development project as SME on secondment, enabled me to gain wider and deeper knowledge of the Ministry's financial systems and processes in the streams. During my time in the project, I had helped completed some financial process Current State Analysis, including payroll, purchasing (FAC and CYRAS), accounts receivable, reporting etc, and participated in the Chart of Account re-design for Children's Costs.
  • I am a detailed-oriented person with strong sense of responsibility and work ethic. I see myself as a reliable, trust worthy person.
