Living WFA’s Values
As a casual event medic with ProMed, I was expected to be able to provide pre-hospital medical care at a diverse range of rural and city-based events across New Zealand outside of the Wellington Region.
My role involves assessing, managing, and treating a wide variety of patients, ensuring their safety and well-being in both low-risk and high-risk environments.
I have worked at events including five-day motocross camping trips, professional and televised motorsports events, jet boating, bull and horse riding rodeos, school sports events, equestrian competitions, motorsports at race tracks, street events, kart sports, and drag racing venues across New Zealand, among many other different events. This role requires strong clinical judgement, adaptability, and teamwork, often in fast-paced and unpredictable settings where quick decision-making is essential.
