A little bit about me
I've always had a passion for Health Care and Emergency Medicine. I've worked and developed my
skills in working with people from all walks of life, young and elderly. I've been fortunate to work in a
fast paced and autonomous environment and developed a range of skills within the prehospital
emergency setting which I have been proud to be able to practice on a daily basis. Each day is a
learning curve and the day I stop learning is the day I retire. Until then, I will embrace each and
every challenge that may come my way and strive to become one of the top practitioners In my
current and future fields of practice.
I have always kept myself to a high standard of professional practice at all times and consistently
strive to be the best I can be in my field.
My strong values that I keep close to my heart include: Compassion, Empathy, Dignity, Integrity,
Respect and to always be Kind, Caring, Understanding and Sensitive to anyone that I may cross
paths with.
I believe through maintaining these values to a high standard at all times is important to any
professional in the field of Paramedics and Health Care.

I am a dedicated and qualified paramedic with extensive experience in pre-hospital emergency care. I strive to manage critical situations with professionalism and sound clinical judgement while upholding evidence-based practice. I am passionate about supporting and guiding the next generation of paramedics, serving as a preceptor and assessor to help students and new staff develop their skills with confidence.

Patient Care & Clinical Excellence

  • Provide high-standard patient care, ensuring treatment aligns with my Authority to Practise (ATP) and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, managing patient conditions with professionalism and respect.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring effective clinical handovers.
  • Uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and deliver culturally safe care.

Operational & Incident Management

  • Respond to ambulance callouts efficiently, adhering to WFA operational procedures and response time targets.
  • Follow clinical excellence, quality management, and health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in mass casualty incidents (MCI) and emergency response operations as required.
  • Engage in post-incident debriefings and operational reviews to enhance performance.
  • Always drive vehicles in a defensive and courteous manner in accordance with the Safe Driving Policy and Procedures.
  • Comply with all road rules and ensure the safety of self, passengers, and other road users whilst driving WFA vehicles.
  • Maintain WFA vehicles to required standards by checking the vehicle and equipment at the beginning of each shift and restocking expendable supplies.
  • Conduct appropriate daily checks and clean the vehicle at the end of the shift (where time permits).
  • Report vehicle defects and missing/faulty equipment promptly.
  • Undertake ongoing specialised driver training as required.

Training, Development & Leadership

  • Act as a preceptor and assessor, mentoring students, new staff, and volunteers.
  • Maintain ongoing clinical education and CE compliance to ensure up-to-date skills and ATP requirements.
  • Participate in operational training, exercises, and professional development activities.
  • When possible and available, Represent WFA in public relations and community engagement events.

Casual Event Paramedic

As a casual event medic with ProMed, I was expected to be able to provide pre-hospital medical care at a diverse range of rural and city-based events across New Zealand outside of the Wellington Region.


My role involves assessing, managing, and treating a wide variety of patients, ensuring their safety and well-being in both low-risk and high-risk environments.

I have worked at events including five-day motocross camping trips, professional and televised motorsports events, jet boating, bull and horse riding rodeos, school sports events, equestrian competitions, motorsports at race tracks, street events, kart sports, and drag racing venues across New Zealand, among many other different events. This role requires strong clinical judgement, adaptability, and teamwork, often in fast-paced and unpredictable settings where quick decision-making is essential.
