I am driven and committed to a fault. The company is more important than even myself. This is now bigger than just me. We have grown this into a company that would survive if I needed to leave tomorrow.
I am married 25 years with 2 daughters that were born in 2006 and 2008.
My hobbies and sports include golf (which I am terrible at), cricket, bush walks and hunting, but my real passion is rugby league.
Howick Hornets Rugby League is basically now in my blood. Myself and the committee team have driven this from the bottom of the 2nd division to win the top division twice over the last 20 years. Trilect sponsors the club both financially and physically. I personally pay for and cook food for 100 people at every home game, I have my bar managers licence to run the club bar. Fundraised $75k 2 years ago to replace the 40 year old kitchen. Have been through most rolls in the club from coach, to manager and club development office through to my current position of club captain.
I also run the masters over 35 team which is the backbone support of the club with 2 others.
My history in playing has been from under 85kg to international representing NZ at Masters in 2020.
Yes I am aware I am old, and maybe a little foolish, but yes I still play today as I love playing Rugby League and love helping the community grow this sport.
Starting my own company with my Brother at the age off 22 was interesting looking back.
Basically I am driven and was good at what I did and in my mind at that age the best next step was to start my own company. This was the starting point of Trilect but we had little business sense and was more concerned about doing a good job and keeping clients happy.
At the age of around 28 I had decided this was not enough and we needed to run this company like a proper company rather than a one man band style business.
From here we have studied books and systems and hired personal and company mentors, over the last 25 years we have grown the company from 2 guys in tool belts to a company of 95 staff with 65 vans on the road. Tiered management and senior leadership teams. Apprenticeship excellence training systems and community support. Sales team and inhouse marketing personal.
The experience over the last 25 years is too large to explain quickly. Trilect specialises in electrical maintenance, installations, solar PV installations from domestic to grid scale sized, automatic gates and access control and finally security.

Greg the owner of NES was an excellent boss and used our strengths to his advantage. Greg used my skills to help maintain machinery and buildings from backup building generators to repairs on NZ post mail sorting amchines. Greg also used my skills in small commercial installation projects and commercial building maintenance
ETCO was where the electrical history started and was one of the first 50 employees of this new apprenticeship company.

Key accomplishments
Everyone has the faults and weaknesses, and I believe I know what mine are. This is where we use other members in our team to make up for these short comings, their strengths are my weaknesses so we work well together as a team.
My weaknesses are a lack of patience, can't stand around and do nothing. This drives my family crazy on holidays as I can't sit on a beach and relax for 4 hours. I tend to get bored quickly so not so great at repetitive low skilled works, brain needs to stay active or I tend to flounder and find something more interesting to do.
