It would be ideal to live in a world without crime, but the reality is that correctional facilities are a very important part of public safety and rehabilitation. I see this role as more than a job because it is about changing people's lives and being part of something greater than myself. Above all these, I believe my personal values fit the bill for a Corrections Officer such as discipline, team spirit, and respect for the law. I am mentally resilient, possess good interpersonal skills, and perform well in environments where clear structure and accountability are paramount. This is not a job for me as it is an opportunity to serve the people, contribute to their wellbeing, and apply my strengths in a role that really makes a difference.
