I am a positive and energetic person who has been in the teaching profession for the past 20 years. Most recently, I have spent the past five teaching at Mahurangi College.
My 5th year at the College saw me take on the role of Syndicate Leader within the Year 8 division of our school. This role allowed me to gain experience in leading a team of teachers, overseeing 180 students, reporting directly to the Junior Head of Faculty and Deputy Principal. I am passionate about engaging students, building strong relationships and providing an environment where students feel valued, safe and will strive to succeed.
The leadership role permitted me to hone in on my communication skills - delivering key messages to students, colleagues and staff alike.
Leading regular syndicate meetings required me to be highly organised, adaptable, dependable and to listen.
I am excited to utilise and develop this skills further as I explore alternative career opportunities.
