I believe a teacher’s role is to develop a bond and trusting relationship with the children their families and the teaching team. I like to encourage children to be curious, creative, and independent. I see my role as an educator to support and allow children to follow their own interests and to help them to take risks in a safe environment. I have spent the last 13 years raising my three gorgeous clever children, Marlo 13, Isla 11 and Felix 7. Now that they are happily attending and integrating into school, it’s time for me to re-establish myself in early childhood education. I have recently finished a teacher refresh course through Te Rito Maioha and I thoroughly enjoyed getting up to date with my training. I also did a 4 week practicu as part of my study at Whakamarama Kindergarten it was great working in this community and I quickly built great relationships with the Kaiako, Tamariki and their Whanau. I come from a creative family and background, I love music, art and photography and have a passion for nature. My happy place is my garden, I love to grow fruit and veggies with my children and have recently been adding a few flower beds to our property. As a family we like to get out into nature for bush walks and trips to the beach. I'm punctual, organised, warm and empathetic which I believe are great strengths to bring to a teaching team.
