During my time as a qualified electrician I have experienced multiple areas and aspects of the trade as I enjoy learning and further improving my skill set, not only for myself but to become a better asset for the company.
I enjoy working on my own or with others, whether its leading, training or learning I embrace new situations and put my best foot forward to take in or impart as much knowledge as possible.
In my current job role I work a 12 hour 4x4 shift roster (2 days/ 2 nights).
As a maintenance electrician I am responsible for the upkeep and preventative maintenance for all electrical plant and equipment. I am responsible for the effective planning and co-ordination of performing breakdown maintenance and project work with other trades, machine operators and managers in a time sensitive and efficient manor while still holding health and safety to a high regard.

During my employment at Laser Electrical New Plymouth I have been apart of a small team which practices a broad scope of electrical in the domestic and commercial sectors primarily doing, fault finding, testing, maintenance of commercial equipment, installing new electrical systems, upgrading old electrical systems, commission and service automatic doors, coffee machines and commercial appliances.
Listed below are some of my key strengths and major roles at Laser Electrical:
• Maintenance of plant and equipment in a commercial and residential setting
• Planning and installing up to regulation wiring systems for both residential electrical fittings and commercial appliances/ machinery/ fittings
• Working as a part of a team and as an individual
• Fault find and testing 400v/230v systems as well as extra low voltage systems
• Training and working alongside apprentices
• Adhering to a high standard of health and safety practices for both myself and others around me.
During my employment at Shore Electrical I started as a basic Electrician and within 7 months proved myself as a valued team member with a promotion to a Electrical Supervisor position. Whilst employed majority of our work was Domestic maintenance and upgrades as well as the odd bit of commercial maintenance. My job consisted of doing electrical safety inspections as well as day to day maintenance, fault finding and switchboard upgrades as well as supervising others and training them in the tasks above.
