Vineyard Development

• Operating an excavator to load dump trucks .
• Operating machinenary in vineyard development, contouring and reshaping the land.

Dam Constuction

• Operating all plant in the contruction of an Earth Dam to create a water reservior for vineyards, this involved laying layers of material and compacting each layer to form the shape of the dam.

Landfill Capping

• Operating all plant in landfill capping, this involved covering waste material with a thick layer of clay, followed by laying a protective geomembrane liner on top, then capped of with topsoil.

Drainage And Waterway Infrastructure

• Digging trenches around utlities with an excavator.
• Digging soak pits
• Subsoil drains
• Manhole installation
• Operating an excavator and learnt safe trenching methods, such as benching, battering and using trench sheilds.
• Installed culverts and replaced damaged and old ones.
• Used lasers and GPS systems to achieve the correct slope for effective drainage.

Road Constuction, Maintenance and Subdivision

• Creating access roads, driveways and grading

• Gained experience in the contruction of a level railway crossing, which involved using concrete saws and excavators to remove existing road, followed by preping the surface with hard fill for asphalt to be laid.
• Operating all plant on subdivisions, contructing building pads to the correct height using GPS systems and laser levels
• Also gained experience laying water mains and sewer pipes to the correct depth, using laser levels

• Operate chansaw to trim posts on newly developed vineyards.
