Summary

The reason I would love this opportunity to work with you is so I can have the option to learn new skills and grow my knowledge as a builder. Im always looking for new things to learn and a variety of work that gives me challenges.

I also love teaching younger workers my experiences and giving them tips to make their work easier. Showing younger workers how I learnt things satisfies me as sometimes it wasn't very easy for me, so I always try help anyone in the best way possible so they can get the best out of it straight away.

I still have so much to learn so will need help with some larger projects as I lack a little bit of confidence, but if I know what im doing I can do the work perfectly fine. Where im working now i've learnt all there is to offer and it doesn't excite me as there's not much variety.

Work History

Carpenter

Adam Hollander Building Limited
01.2023 - Current
  • The work im currently doing now with Adam ranges from decent sized re roofs, decks, renovation work and concrete slabs. Currently working on an extension/reno, pole shed and some transportable cabin foundations. a lot of our work consists of ripping out old windows and putting new ones in, decks and pouring concrete. good work and like it was just told at the interview that the work was completely different to what we are doing and don't agree with some of the workmen ship hes happy with.

Carpenter

DS Building Limited
05.2019 - 12.2022
  • At the start on may 2019 i started with Dallas where he gave me an apprenticeship and a very wide range of work. the work ranged from large herd homes for dairy farms and i completed 8 of these sheds start to finish. also got to work on a large extension/renovation in town where we had to re roof a part of the building and add on a few more rooms to the house. i also got to do a lot of new builds that were mainly syp panel houses for formance. i completed from start to finish 7 houses using the syp panel system. also did a few standard frame and truss builds. a lot of concrete work in between jobs and small patch up jobs like ripping old windows out and replacing with new ones. really enjoyed that variety of work but near the end of my time with dallas we were only doing herd homes and wanted to look for new learning opportunities in building houses as that's what i really enjoy.

Carpentry Apprentice

MR Clark Builders
01.2018 - 04.2019
  • I first started with Marty in 2018 after i came out of my ITABS polytechnic course in dunedin. Marty offered me a full time job and apprenticeship in the new year so i jumped on it. his work mainly consisted of franchise houses for fowler homes and the odd jennian homes when offered. I learnt a lot there and loved the work but with some confusion on my apprenticeship it wasn't going to work out and i left as it was best for me.
