Work History

Waitressing

Catering
01.2023
  • I helped cater for a few different events throughout 2023. I catered for Turanga Health Kaumatua Ball at Te Poho
  • Rawiri, Fundraiser’s for Gisborne Girls High Tahiti trip and The opening of Matai Research Centre breakfast at Matapuna Training Centre. At these events, I learned the importance of waitressing. From taking orders under pressure to taking extra care of the elderly. I learnt the importance of hygiene around food being served and resilience to keep going when busy. With my group, we worked as a team to help provide and deliver kai to tables. And managed the clean up afterwards.

Coaching Kids teams

Horouta Sports Club and Kaiti School
01.2023 - Current
  • I have coached children's touch, rugby and rugby league teams within the community for the past 3 years. I assist my father as he is the head coach for Horout Sports Club teams and is the Head of the Kaiti School Touch Rugby academy. For the past 2 years I have had my own Kaiti School kids touch team, that I train, coach and ref during the summer season. My coaching role has taught me patience, care and resilience. One of my passions that got me into this position, is making sure no one misses out on an amazing sporting opportunity (especially kids) and encouraging them to give it a go and have fun.

Customer Service

Café 8888
02.2025 - 10.2025
  • I worked casual at Café 8888. I have used my past customer service skills to continue working in a bigger workplace. This involves serving customers, regular cleaning and maintaining a tidy environment, waitressing, replenishing food and drinks and how to work under pressure. I have learned basic barista training and kitchen hand.

Zambrero
01.2023 - 01.2025
  • I have worked at Zambrero part time. I have learned how to hygienically handle food, clean and prepare spaces for customers and how to engage with customers positively. This also includes serving customers, using the till and closing up after a shift. During my time, I have learned good time management throughout shifts, how to work as a team with my co-workers and the importance of communication in a workplace. I learned how to work under pressure working during RnV time, although it was very busy I enjoyed the challenge.
