I am a hardworking, reliable, and dedicated worker with strong communication skills and a genuine eagerness to learn. I have honed my ability to build strong customer relationships and communicate effectively in fast-paced environments, particularly in sales. I excel at identifying customer needs and providing tailored solutions, consistently meeting team goals and contributing to overall success. Additionally, my involvement in a range of extra-curricular activities demonstrates my commitment to community engagement and my passion for helping others.
I participated in a 1 week competition held in Christchurch, NZ, by The Kind Foundation, where I was selected from hundreds of students nationwide. In teams, we were tasked with developing a solution to address the potential impact of New Zealand halting imports and exports. My team focused on providing clean and accessible energy to the South Island, which relies heavily on LPG imports from Australia.Given the South Island’s rural nature, we proposed a solution involving underground tiles installed in backyards. These tiles would allow people to dispose of their compost and food scraps, which would then create methane gas. The gas could be captured and stored in tanks for use, such as for cooking. Our innovative idea and physical product secured 1st place in the competition, and we were awarded $1500. This competition enhanced my coding skills as well as my passion about sustainability. Additionally, it gave me the skills of teamwork, time management, and responsibility.
GirlBoss Edge: Sustainability is a highly selective leadership accelerator for high school-aged young women across New Zealand. Through this 10-day programme, I underwent high-level leadership training and received transformative mentoring (from Alexia Hilbertidou & Miranda Young) from New Zealand’s leading science, technology, and energy professionals. I also worked on solving real-world challenges through the ‘Sustainability Challenge’ in collaboration with energy sector companies, including Orion, Connetics, MainPower, Omexom, Counties Energy, Vector, and Waipā Networks. Through this incredible, life-changing experience, I have been motivated and energised to continue creating change and innovating in the sustainability and energy sectors.
I participated in the Blanchard Leadership Programme, which focused on developing key leadership skills such as effective communication, team collaboration, and decision-making. The programme provided me with valuable tools to lead with purpose and adaptability, empowering me to inspire and motivate others in both personal and professional settings.
