I am a dedicated, passionate and hard-working person, with an all rounding experience within many roles such as admin work, campaigning and tutoring. The ability to adapt and create solutions within any situation in order to help contribute to the success of the team are qualities i believe to posses. I strongly believe in bringing forth a strong work ethic and positive attitude towards work, the company and my colleagues. My strengths lie within anything to do with Māori people - as our success as a people means everything to me.

Commitment to the kaupapa of Kohanga is imperative, therefore you must adhere to the following. • TE REO MAORI and TIKANGA MAORI

Puawairua Te Kohanga Reo is Total Immersion Maori. Therefore Te Reo must be the only language heard within the Kohanga.

THERE WILL BE NO COMPROMISE. Therefore you must be either, able to korero maori or willing to learn by doing appropriate courses. If you are not yet conversant you must learn because if you are a paid worker. YOU ARE PAID FOR TE REO.

Must have some knowledge of tikanga maori and actively practice these tikanga but be willing to learn.

• You are an assistant to the KAIAKO, assistance must be given at all times. Able to follow instructions. (Under the guidance and direction of the Kaiako the aims and objectives of kohanga will be accomplished accordingly.)

• Through the direction of the Kaiako you are responsible for maintaining the Health and Safety of the Tamariki/mokopuna at all times whilst they are in the care of Kohanga. Personal hygiene and ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the kohanga through general cleaning is also vital at all times.

• Able to keep accurate recordings pertaining to their positions

• Time keeping:

Must be punctual and reliable. When working with tamariki, time keeping must be precise
