Rhys Purser

I started working here, doing work experience while carrying out a pre-trade at Witt. After successfully finishing my pre-trade, I completed an apprenticeship in Heavy Automotive Engineering, specializing in road transport.

While working here, I have had the task of carrying out pre-COF inspections and COF repairs, performing routine maintenance on truck and trailer units, diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, carrying out brake and clutch repairs, and using scan tools to diagnose and repair electrical system faults.

I have had experience working on many different brands, but I have mainly worked on Isuzu, Scania, and Hino.

I have achieved, during my time here, completing Brand training, completing Isuzu Maintenance Technician Level 1-2, Scania Maintenance Technician, and Scania Electrical Level 2.

Worked within a small group meeting time frames to carry out the 2020-2021 harvest season for the North Taranaki farmers.

While at school, I completed work experience here through the Hawera High School Gateways program. This work experience led to an after-school job cleaning the workshop area and assisting technicians.
