I'm a confident, skilled and hard working Retail Manager. I have always held customer service roles and I'm proud of how I have developed my skills over time.
I'm energetic, professional and love to learn new skills. I love team training and watching team members progress in their careers. I work strongly independently but also feel I am always approachable by team.
I have a passion for interior design, country music and I'm currently trying to renovate my garden.
At Freedom Furniture I help customers to style and colour co-ordinate their spaces. I love interior design and have really enjoyed learning more about colour matching and styling pieces together. I have developed knowledge in logistics, costs and time frames on importing furniture from all over the world and also from our distribution centre in Auckland. I have learnt more about how distribution and purchase ordering works. I have grown in the skills it take to run a very high turn over store. I have implemented training processes to make sure we get the best out of the team and to make sure they that feel supported in their role. I have dived deep into profit and loss for the store and breaking down ways to make the store more successful. I deal a lot with customer escalations and getting the right result for the customer.
At Seed I had a team of 16, that I coached and trained to be the best. I pride myself on the customer service that myself and the team give. It has been amazing to develop my skillset to run a high turn over, high fashion store. I have learnt the importance of time management and delegation. I have up skilled in my Visual Merchandising and love to run reports around best sellers, zero lines and placement. I'm confident in targets,KPIs, rostering, team coaching and pick/packing online orders. Being the only store in the South Island I was given a lot of trust to run the store as my own which grew my confidence as it was on of the top stores in New Zealand.
At Platypus I have worked in both outlet and concept stores giving me a better understanding of how a business is run. Product knowledge is very important when selling a range of brands and I feel confident in my team training skills that we were able to offer the best customer service. I had a team of 6. I was very proud to be able to train two Assistant Managers into Store Manager roles and I successfully run the opening of four new stores. i dived deep into PNLs at Platypus and found ways we could make more profit. When running the outlet store it is encouraged to run the store as your own and decide pricing etc so I learnt a lot and grew confident in this. We had a remote regional manager so being the senior store manager in Christchurch I offered support to the other stores.
The Fox is a gastro style pub that seats 35 in the restaurant, with a private dining room and a large drinking area. It also has 10 boutique hotel rooms. I started my role as a full time worker, then supervisor and moving into Assistant Manager within 3 months. My responsibilities included running the restaurant bookings, ordering for the bar, training staff in product knowledge and designing and running events. Making sure guests had a great time and left feeling part of the Fox family was important to me.
While travelling around the United Kingdom I had a number of roles as was often moving and seeing the world. Waitressing in restaurants to sandwhich making in cafes. I used my skills from retail management to give the best possible service. It taught me to always work hard but to also always have fun. I had many great reviews from the different places I worked. My great work ethic meant I had respect from my fellow working and management through my different roles. It was always hard to leave my roles but it showed me how fast I adapt and learn new systems.
I started Amazon as a casual working my way to Assistant Manager then to Store Manager. Amazon was my first retail job and had high expectations of customer service that I have retained and grown over the years. Working with many brands across one store taught me how important product knowledge is and working with a young team I developed skills to find fun ways to teach them also. I was lucky enough to work in both outlet and concept stores which starting my interest in profit and losses and where we can bring in more profit. I was able to be part of the team when Amazon got store makeovers and was part of the management team of the 'Mega Store' which had a skate ramp and DJ booth. We held skate meet and greets and often held late nights showcasing new brands product launches.
