Raised on a farm in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, near the coastal town of Kenton-on-sea, I spent all of my time outdoors and engaged in farming and fishing activities.
Photography has always been a huge interest to me, although I was never clever enough to go out as a professional. I started with my first camera at age twelve, I am still continuing today. This is what engages most of my time since the Covid pandemic, where I have been surviving by dog-sitting and house sitting. I would love to have something to work on and use my skills.
Setting nets and monitoring tides, cleaning catch and weighing and packaging.
Manual tasks related to refuelling and positioning of dredge in river. Assist diver below water and clear obstructions from hose continually throughout shift.
Arrived in New Zealand as an immigrant and after a third year studying horticulture to achieve appropriate certificates began a 3,8 Ha native tree planting project where I worked alone and independently to plant thousands (about one hundred thousand) native trees in Havelock North.
Various gardening jobs followed after that but my attempt to promote my business as a "native tree planter" in Hawkes Bay had zero inquiries in the community so after two years of trying I left the location.
Not understanding how a successful outcome could be completely disregarded by the community I decided to investigate further which led me to undertaking a degree in Communications through Massey University. At the same time I was renovating a neglected two acre garden surrounding an old farmhouse beneath the Ruahine ranges in Central Hawkes bay.
With the help of my father I was able to purchase a run down and neglected 23Ha block of land. I renovated all the lands, learning to plough on an old tractor and planted 5Ha of Goseberries which were sold for jam making.
I also learned extensive skills such as fence building, tractor repairs and maintenance, painting and all horticultural elements as I planted lawn for "instant lawn" which was sold on new builds in the nearby town of Port Alfred.

undefinedMostly I enjoy taking Landscape and Seascape photographs, with the occasional portrait and pet portrait.
I have recently received a "Certificate of Artistic Achievement" from the Pinacotheque of the Museum in Luxembourg 2022.
I am creating a new website to showcase some images if you would like to view the quality of my work.
