Summary

As per my Personal Statement I have performed many and varied roles dealing with people and communication. I have studied a variety of business skills and development courses through my time at David Forman NZ Ltd, focussing primarily on sales, negotiation and effective leadership. These all included many components of working with people and the psychology around buying, selling, trading and managing. I hope that my life and work experience and the skills I have developed will demonstrate that I am a good candidate to study Psychology and Sociology at the University of Auckland in 2025

Manager (our Own Business)

Amadeus Music Ltd
04.2021 - Current

I co-manage our business with my husband. Amadeus Music Ltd has customers all over Asia and Europe. It is a violin making and restoration business. My husband travels for trade fairs and customer visits and I manage administration from NZ. It is a part time role.


My role entails;

  • Banking and record keeping.
  • Managing travel and appointments
  • Ordering product.
  • Following up with customers.

Atanassov Pearson Ltd

Atanassov-Pearson Ltd is my husband and my property company. It involved the purchase, management and sale of 6 rental properties.

This was primarily my initiative and the role involved;


  • Researching and purchasing high yield rental properties.
  • Employing property Managers when travelling or for specific properties.
  • Staying informed on rental/landlords legislation and managing tenants accordingly.
  • Redecorating, marketing and managing the sale of these properties between 2016 and 2021.

St Honore Ltd sourced, imported and sold replica jewellery via it's website and Trademe Ltd from 2003-2017. The business was established and registered in 2003.


My role included;


  • International travel to design and source jewellery from international trade fairs.
  • Sourced professional photography services, wrote descriptions, loaded website and listed products on Trademe Ltd.
  • Oversaw 2 staff who performed relisting and despatch services, customer contact and service.

As senior consultant my role entailed;


  • Identifying potential customers and building effective relationships.
  • Understanding customers needs in terms of high level recruits for available positions.
  • Researching industry and positions to ensure and in depth understanding of requirements.
  • Advertising and screening applicants for these roles.
  • Arranging meetings for clients with chosen applicants.
  • Following through with both client and applicant post placement to ensure all expectations were met.

Senior Key Account Manager

I performed 2 roles during my time with David Forman NZ, initially as a Business Development Manager and later as a Key Account Manager.


My role as BDM included;


  • Cold calling new or lapsed customers to build effective relationships.
  • Understanding, through effective questioning, my customer's core needs in terms of staff performance and current skill gaps.
  • Identifying and selling appropriate seminars or customised training to meet those needs.
  • Ascertaining the quantifiable results expected by the customer as a result of staff's training and subsequent improved skills, and presenting realistic measures to assess and track improved performance.
  • Following through with both client management and staff to ensure ongoing assignments demonstrating the application of new skills were understood and completed to a high standard.
  • Visiting new and existing clients and presenting complex training solutions based on their brief/s.
  • Constantly staying informed of industry trends and changes both in my own market and those of my various customers.


My role as Senior Key Account Manager included;


  • Building and maintaining relationships at multiple levels of client organisations/corporates.
  • Demonstrating a deep and thorough knowledge of complex business models and skill requirements.
  • Developing complex training solutions, customised to large organisations, ensuring uniform training and development of skills at multiple levels to support organisational development, growth and culture.
  • Supporting client organisations changes in direction, ie; growth, restructuring, procurement or diversification through the provision of supporting skill training.
  • Travelling between Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne to establish and develop new corporate opportunities.

My role with Wilson and Horton involved selling advertising space in their Waitakere Week Community Newspaper, including;


  • Identifying potential customers, cold calling and identifying their business's advertising requirements.
  • Proposing appropriate advertising solutions in terms of design, placement and size.
  • Working with clients to maximise the value of their advertising budget/spend, including longer campaigns, and one off events.
  • Following up with clients to ensure the advertising solutions were effective and meeting agreed goals.
  • Designing Editorial features around subjects of core interest, sourcing clients whose businesses connected with these campaigns and selling advertising solutions to complete the feature.
  • Working with other departments to ensure budgets and deadlines were meet each week.


Japanese Speaking Tour Guide

My role as a Japanese Speaking Guide with Scenic Tours NZ Ltd involved accompanying groups of Japanese customers to NZ locations such as Rotorua, Waitomo and Auckland's West Coast beaches;


  • Escorting large groups of Japanese Speaking guests/tourists to a variety of NZ locations, providing a full, in depth commentary of both NZ in general and the specifics of the area we were visiting.
  • Ensuring guests were comfortable, expectations were met and answering many and varied questions in both English and Japanese.
  • Ensuring tours arrived and departed on time and all visits and travel went smoothly.
  • Occasionally also escorting French speaking guests and at times providing triple commentary in French, Japanese and English for mixed tours.

English Teacher/Interpreter/Editorial Coordinator

During my time freelancing in Tokyo I worked in varying roles for different clients. These included;


  • Interpreting English to Japanese or Japanese to English for business meetings and interviews.


  • Advising Japanese clients on English /Western business protocol or expectations.


  • Teaching business clients appropriate English language skills.


  • Helping to proof read English publications produced by Japanese editorial houses.
  • Teaching older school/college students and a variety of professional clients in private English lessons.

During the above time frame I worked for several English schools in Tokyo in roles that included the following;


  • Design and deliver engaging and effective lessons using a mix of Japanese/English relevant to each student.
  • Request home work be completed to demonstrate understanding and application of the learning covered in the lesson.
  • Tailor individual lessons to all ages from primary school children through to business people.
  • At times travel to far reaching places to deliver English lessons.


During this time I also studied much of the time to build my Japanese speaking skills and became fluent in spoken Japanese.

Club Med GO

Club Mediterranee

Working as a GO (Gentil Organisateur) or 'kind organiser' involved all aspects of resort life. Each 'season' was 6 months and typically GOs were moved to a new country every 6 months after a week or two rest back in their home country. I was part of the team that did the opening season of Bali and Phuket Thailand. I had 2 roles during my time with Club Med. First season I served bar and subsequent seasons I was part of the Guest Relations teams. I became completely fluent in French during this time as staff only spoke in French.

My responsibilities included;


  • Opening, stocking, serving and closing the bar in Tahiti.
  • Welcoming, informing and advising guests on all aspects of Club life, services and facilities.
  • Arranging and booking tours.
  • Selling 'bar beads', the only 'currency' used in Club Med resorts.
  • Rehearsing and performing a range of stage shows including singing, dancing and general entertaining (Cabaret/Rocky Horror Picture Show/ lip Syncing etc).
  • Welcoming guests to meals and hostessing in the dining room.

My roles at the BNZ were varied as a new staff member. I spent the most time as a teller. My role involved;


  • Balancing the cash drawer daily and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Disbursing cash and checks accurately while maintaining security of cash drawers.
  • Answering customer enquiries on all aspects of our banking service.
  • Providing services around bank cards and credit cards.
  • Processing customer transactions promptly, minimizing wait times.
