I have been recognised throughout secondary school as someone who creates positive relationships with peers, teachers and community also showing respect for themselves and wider community. Establishing strong connections and friendships and participate positively and keenly in events. I have received two ahuatanga awards in whanaungatanga and one in manaakitanga for these attributes!
In 2023 a Maori bilingual unit was opened within my school, He kupenga Rua a Tane also known as 'wananga'. We do wananga based learning, focusing on Te Ao Maori, Te Reo Maori and Maori history. I myself am a descendant of Ngati Tuwharetoa and Ngati Koata!
