About Me

  • I am a 60-year-old single woman and a grandmother of 5 grandchildren.
  • I was widowed in my late twenties with two young children and pregnant with our third child and this shaped my life most uniquely. As a Christian, I found this to be a very challenging journey but it changed my life and relationship with God, which I have now written a book which will be published in April 2024, with the thought and desire to support others who face tough challenges in life and meet those challenges with hope and resilience in their faith >
  • I remarried two-and-a-half-years later to a christian man and had three more children. We were assistant pastoring a church in Rotorua for 2 years. However after ten years my marriage dissolved after we had moved to Warkworth as my husband was really abusive and I had to leave with our 6 children to preserve my life.
  • It was after that I started a cleaning business, choosing to not return to nursing because of the shift work involved and I wanted to be flexible in caring for my children and being there for them after school and weekends.
  • I attend Equippers Church in Warkworth and am part of one of their homegroups in Snells Beach. I love walking, pilates and spending time with my grandchildren, as well as reading, knitting and crochet.
  • I love writing and hope to write more books on my life experiences to help and support others through tough times.
  • I am positive and being a Christian is central to my life. I am a bit of an introvert but I enjoy connecting with people and getting to know new friends. I like pushing myself out of my comfort zones, especially now as I am getting older, as I am aware of how easy it would be to just stick with my normal routines.
  • I am a mum of now six adult children and I enjoy a close relationship with them. I also endeavour to create that close relationship with my grandchildren.
