I am currently seconded into the position of an HR Business Partner, covering parental leave. In addition to my experience listed below within the HR Associate role, my role as an HR Business Partner also involves:

  • Partnering with key business stakeholders to ensure that all HR services, projects, and initiatives are appropriately planned, communicated, and implemented, and meet the needs of the business.
  • Establish strong relationships and credibility as an effective HR Business Partner to the business, anticipating and proactively addressing business challenges.
  • Providing advice, coaching, and support to managers on the full range of human resource services, in accordance with Employment Agreements, strategies, frameworks, policies, and relevant legislation.
  • Advising and assisting in employment relations and change management processes, ensuring fair, consistent, and prompt processes are followed, and successful outcomes are achieved.
  • Working in collaboration with the wider HR functional teams, identify and implement initiatives to actively promote and support organizational culture, values, learning, and engagement.
  • Working proactively in collaboration with other HR Business Partners and the wider HR functional teams to ensure the provision of a strategic and value-added HR service.

  • Providing generalist advice and guidance on HR matters to managers and employees.

  • I managed two high-volume HR inboxes for all HR queries, requests, data changes, and Workday tasks. This was inclusive of providing immigration documents for employees, and processing all HR-related invoices.
  • I worked closely with managers across the business to provide them with HR support. This includes recruitment support for vacancies, support with HR queries, providing managers with system training for Workday, general HR advice on employment issues, pay reviews, and organizational structure changes.
  • I have skills in using Power BI and Excel to create HR-related monthly reports, which I compiled together to provide analysis for our leadership and management teams. This was inclusive of providing other HR data reports (annual leave, pay review reports).

  • I co-lead a 10-week SharePoint intranet site redesign project, which focused on both redesigning the look, feel, and accessibility of our company intranet site. Part of this project included the creation of employee and manager content, and learning tools to produce an engaging and self-serving employee experience.
  • I was responsible for all immigration needs at 2degrees, which included completing forms and letters for all employees. Due to my vast knowledge and experience with INZ and related queries, I took on the responsibility of getting 2degrees’s accreditation renewed when needed, and liaising closely with INZ officers.

  • During my roles as an intern and graduate within the People Team at 2degrees, my roles responsibilities were spread over the various HR Teams. Working in Talent, Health and Wellness, Learning and Development and briefly working with the Recruitment team. My responsibilities include being able to manage workloads and priorities urgent requests to meet deadlines and time frames.
  • During this period, I was able to increase my knowledge about the human resource functions and apply my learnings from my degree into the workspace. Having the theoretical knowledge and being able to integrate it with the practical work I had studied, has widened my thinking and given me a clearer insight of many general human resource tasks and functions.
