As of recently St Thomas Basketball program has exceeded as our 2023 season was viewed as our very best season of all time. Finishing the season with no loses, As a result of winning our regional championship we were blessed with an opportunity to compete in the south islands secondary schools competition. In which we were expected to take it out, however we fell short eventually by placing fourth, however it was enough for us to qualify for the New Zealand Secondary Schools basketball competition, hosted every year. As it was our second year qualifying for a national competition we were a inexperienced team, which eventually making us fall short of the top ten teams placing #12. However this inspired the next group of young talent in my school to be a part of something special.
