I started working in the nursery at Kauri Park in 2010, with a background in commercial horticulture, and a passion for the environment.
As a self-confessed people person who loves helping others, I made the natural move from the day to day nursery work to my current role of Sales Consultant where i embrace my love of nature while building and maintaining close relationships with new potential customers and current customers.
I have been in sales now for over 12 years and am proud to be part of a team who are contributing to a better tomorrow for the New Zealand landscape.
I am focused on using my knowledge and experience to create cost effective and successful solutions for our customers. Nothing beats the satisfaction of a flourishing ecosystem and a happy customer.
I am passionate about sales and closing the deal; it's addictive.
However, I believe the most important part of the sales process is, firstly, finding out about the customer, what the customer's needs are, what their pain points are, and then coming up with a strategy and solution that best suits them.
Then, maintain a strong relationship through face-to-face visits, phone calls, and other communication.
Another key part of my role is pipeline management.
As a key account manager, my role with Kauri Park has been just that: proactively searching out leads and opportunities, and working hard to turn these into sales.
In our business, we have the day-to-day nursery sales supplying plants to the commercial sector across NZ; this includes landscapers, councils, and architects. We also have the project work where we supply, but also install and maintain, so we cover a wide spectrum and type of customer.
These types of customers would be private landowners, developers, civil contractors, planners, and major infrastructure projects like roading.
I also enjoy working in a team environment.
I am a family man, with a Wife and 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl.
So spending quality time with them is important for me.
