I enjoy playing all sports and have played Lacrosse from 2012 till present. My pursuit of being a better me day in day out landed me the opportunity to represent New Zealand in lacrosse in 2016 and 2017 for the under 18 Australian tournament. It was an honour to play and represent your country. This experience taught me commitment, resilience and leadership not only to your teammates but your own game/life as well.
I enjoy coaching and developing teams as well. I have coached both lacrosse and basketball and received student coach of the year in 2015 for taking the under 17 boys basketball team from 12th to 2nd place. The skills I have honed through this experience is team management, strategising and the ability to take on constructive criticism. I believe as a coach with the right mindset you are able to learn just as much from your team as they are from you. My biggest enjoyment coaching comes from the sense of community team sports gives you, the ability to speak to people from all walks of life and build deeper connections.
