Alliance Group process and export red meat products to over 65 countries worldwide. We are one of New Zealand’s largest employers with over 5000 staff across 6 plants and 2 corporate offices.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for multiple Corporate and manufacturing roles simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards in candidate assessment and selection.
  • Manage the annual Alliance Group Scholarships (Shareholder Bursary and Employee Family Bursary)
  • Develop strong talent pipelines by utilising various sourcing techniques, including job boards, social media, direct searches via LinkedIn, networking and engaging with relevant recruitment agencies.
  • Utilise LinkedIn Recruiter License and SEEK Talent Search to proactively identify and approach top talent for hard to fill vacancies.
  • Engage with third party recruitment specialists, building and maintaining relationships, managing expectations and negotiating terms.
  • Provide training and advice to hiring managers and the wider business regarding recruitment best practice.
  • Reviewing and updating internal recruitment materials.
  • Working closely with an external career brand agency to develop Alliance groups career brand and EVP.
  • Ongoing conversations with the wider People and Culture team and stakeholders regarding feedback and suggestions for continuous improvements to our internal Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Graduate Programme recruitment activity, including attending University Careers fairs, developing programme material and collateral, advertising and interviewing as well as assisting in the planning of the graduates rotation.


Key highlights


  • Significantly contributed to the creation and development of the Alliance Group Graduate Programme. Presented the programme idea to the Board of Directors and Executive team to request support and approval for the programme.
  • Developed an entirely new online application process for our Seasonal recruitment campaigns to drive higher volumes of applications by ensuring the process for these critical seasonal roles was fit-for purpose.
  • Successfully recruited seasonal workers from the Cook Islands during the middle of the COVID pandemic, despite strict international and domestic travel restrictions.
  • Successfully lobbied Immigration New Zealand to provide an Exemption to the English Language Testing requirements for workers out of the pacific islands for our 2024/25 seasonal recruitment drive. This resulted in us securing experienced talent for our season as well as an industry-wide exemption that benefited multiple meat processing organisations.
  • Significant contribution to Alliance Groups first ever company-wide Values Awards. Supporting the Lead in the overall design and development of the awards as well as all other associated activity.

  • Worked with our procurement team to implement a nationwide Managed Service Programme (MSP) to streamline our temp recruitment workforce
  • I held full accountability and responsibility of the Hays Talent Solutions MSP managing a team of two

  • Development of specific and targeted sector specific recruitment campaigns, development of engaging collateral and campaigns bespoke to specific recruitment needs

  • I was bought in as an in-house recruitment specialist to assist with recruitment for the Civil Construction Project Management (PMO) division
  • My key role was to and to fill 30 Project Management roles which required immediate recruitment expertise
  • Worked through a large backlog of applications requiring excellent communication and damage limitation skills
  • Liaising with and building/maintaining existing relationships with a large volume of recruitment agencies, negotiating terms and fees
  • Implemented a clear process for all recruitment agencies working with Citycare to follow, substantially reducing the amount of duplicated applications
  • The new process also allowed quicker and more efficient feedback
