My responsibilities while working in the warehouse for J.A. Russell included:


- Managing the incoming and outgoing stock.

- Overseeing the delivery drivers routes, collections and drop-off's.

- Operating the forklift maintaining an organised work environment.

- Overseeing the store floor and its presentation to customers.

- Customer service and satisfaction.


My role within the company required a variety of skills to ensure that my role was completed with quality and efficiency and satisfaction. Communication between myself and the team around me, listening to alternative suggestions, time management of myself and my team. These were just a few skills which played a huge part in my development in the role.

I worked for Buchanan Construction for just under 2 years working in the residential building side of the construction industry. Over the course of those 2 years I learnt a variety of skills and developed knowledge of the industry which can be applied in and outside of the building industry. Majority of my career was spent working on different New Builds and Renovations. Some jobs working from the starting stages of a project through to the fine details, others coming in and picking up from an existing stage. I was also exposed to daily interactions with sub contractors and inspectors which enhanced my communication skills with other trades and people on the job site.

I worked for Jacobson Projects for just over a year, working in the commercial side of building. I spent the majority of my time working on large scale projects focusing on foundation work and concrete. I learnt a variety of skills that are often overlooked in the residential side of building and when i transitioned into residential work they turned out to be a strong asset in the transition. Working on large scale projects allowed me to learn how to focus on single tasks and watch as they developed over time. I also learnt different skills working in larger scale teams and was ultimately developed my building knowledge and skills.

I started my building career working for DBS Residential, early in 2021. I was tossed into the deep end early into my career and acted as a lead hand to a single qualified builder on my first day. I was exposed to alot of exterior work and challenged with different tasks and jobs without the knowledge. During my time working for DBS Residential I was able to enhance my skills and take onboard knowledge that was given to me on a daily basses. I was challenged with many different obstacles early on in my apprenticeship and was able to adapt and overcome them to ensure the quality of my work.

Bunnings Crew Member

I started my job with Bunnings as a crew member working in the power garden department. My role focused on providing customers with knowledge of their needs and purchases as well as providing them with the best service possible.


I then went on to work in the Inwards Good department of the store. managing the stores stock and unloading and loading trucks daily. I worked within a small team ensuring that the stock levels where correct and that the store floor was presentable. I managed transfers of stock between stores and any issues with stock. My role allowed me to be involved with the customers and ensure that they had the best experience possible.

Burger King was my first job, in the 2 years I worked for Burger King I worked as a crew member, primarily running the drive through. I was also required to manage the store from time to time which allowed me to develop early leadership skills early on into my working career. I learnt alot in my time working for Burger King, alot of skills which are transferable into any scope of work.
