Work History
Part Time Sales Assistant
4 Years 3 Months- Greet and acknowledge all customers when they enter the store and ensure they are assisted to find what they are after
- Built product knowledge so I can advise customers on the products, how to wear them and how to maintain them post purchase
- Operate the ontempo register and perform sales, returns, refunds and credits accurately
- Assist with processing of stock in and out of store correctly to ensure stock levels remain accurate
- Assist with all administrative tasks such as cleaning, steaming garments, rubbish etc.
- Trained new hires on company policies, procedures, sales tactics helping them integrate seamlessly into the team
- Implemented and helped with store visual merchandising to attract customers and drive sales
Checkout Operator
2 Years 6 Months- Operated cash register, collected payments and provided accurate change

- I have also learnt about fashion business, fashion culture and have learnt to extensively explore key themes and ideas central to creative practice across a range of historical and cultural contexts.

- Graduated with distinction and gained first place in Textiles Technology as well as attaining Level 3 NCEA with an overall Excellence endorsement.
- Also attained Level 2 NCEA with an overall Excellence endorsement as well as other course endorsements.
- Attained Level 1 NCEA with an overall Excellence endorsement as well as course endorsements, achieved the following awards; Excellence in Maths and First place in Science, Social Studies, English and my Form Class.

Collaborative
problem solver and leadership | At the Entertainment Book I collaborated with my co-workers to organise 6 launch events collaborating and ensures everything ran smoothly. Retail requires collaboration with your peers particularly when it gets busy. In stressful situations I often find myself taking the lead to work through problems and de-escalate conflict.
Creative and enthusiastic | I am at my best when I am doing something creative and studying fashion in a creative based
hands-on environment such as Ara reinforced this. I care about what I do and how I do it; I want to do a great job and I work hard to do so.
Ambition and willingness to learn | I set myself high standards and thrive on challenging myself. I have a healthy ambition to succeed in whatever I do and am eager to learn and am able to quickly pick up skills. Studying fashion made me more driven as I realised this is not an easy industry.
Communication | At the Entertainment Book I communicated with my colleagues in order to stay on schedule and keep track of our stock. Similarly in retail you need to be able to communicate with your peers on a number of occasions to run the store efficiently.
Technical skills | I have skills in PAD
illustrator and excel which I learnt at Ara and during my internships. I am also proficient in using ontempo POS system.
