  • I joined NZES as part of the leadership team of managers.
  • Managing the relations of the key clients and projects assigned to me.
  • Complete electrical engineering on projects from receiving an asset list and P&ID through to commissioning and after service support.
  • PLC & HMI/SCADA writing complete programs and fault finding/ modifications(Rockwell, Omron, Schneider, Beijer, Ignition).
  • Leading electrical design which involved moving the company CAD standard over to EPLAN software and in-house training for our team, creation of testing documents for switchboard construction following AS/NZS 61439 and overall project FAT.
  • Technical support to our service Electricians.

Job overview

  • I started work at Pernod Ricard 9months after the Kaikoura earthquake which destroyed most of the tank farm at the winery, I played a vital role in the rebuild and upgrade.
  • My key responsibilities were: -Overseeing the electrical team and assisting with the design and implementation of the large-scale tank farm automation and developing “Smart tanks”.
  • Installing new power distribution throughout the factory, IT network gear, setting up instrumentation and PLC/HMI/SCADA controls while also integrating all the new stuff with the old sections of the factory (Rockwell Site with lots of SLC’s, Compact Logix, Control Logix, Powerflex drives, Ignition SCADA).
  • Various projects installing new plant equipment
  • Shift work over the ~8-week harvest period to provide 24hr breakdown support for the factory.
