Summary

In short, I am a capable, driven young man with a lot of real world experience to offer any business.

I may not have a university degree but I became a black belt at 16, junior world champion at 17. Since then I have made 2 world finals and one semi final as an adult. I have worked on movies and shows, taken hits and fought many men stronger and better than myself, been thrown around by wires on sets, modelled to promote the shows, taught children how to defend themselves, visited 23 countries and counting, learned half a different language simply to survive living there.

All while maintaining a position in a team of tradesmen repairing the homes of the good people of Auckland.

On a final note, whilst unorthodox, my life experience has shown me how to work hard anywhere and how to carry myself, how to deal with others and the adversities that come along in the work place.

Mark Trotter

  • Since I was 18 I have been in and out of the film industry using my martial arts background and connections to gain work as a stunt performer. I have been performing in live shows to display martial art skills since I was even younger though, and eventually progressed onto the screen. Essentially a stunt performer is someone who knows how to perform certain action moves or sequences, take impacts, perform from wires - anything required for the production. It requires high focus, adaptability and comfortability with the uncomfortable. Some of the other skills involved are:
  • Diversified abilities by learning and performing new martial arts techniques, rigging systems, and special effects technologies.
  • Increased realism in fight scenes through expert choreography and precise timing.
  • Delivered consistently high-quality performances under pressure in both live shows and filmed productions.
  • Ensured compliance with industry safety standards by staying current on new technologies, equipment, and best practices in the field of stunt work.

Martial Arts Instructor

Mark Trotter

  • I have practiced the korean martial art of Taekwon-Do since I was 11 years old. I attained my black belt at 16 and have taught others ever since. I find it incredibly rewarding and though it isn't full time work I have learned so many things that have helped me in the work place. Some of the things I have gained from my time as a martial arts instructor are:
  • How to provide feedback and corrections to improve students' skills and techniques.
