This means I have been part of a small committee who oversea a ward (group of 250+ people) and assist the whanau within that ward to achieve a collective goal. For example, a common goal is ensuring each whanau has a 72 hour emergency kit in their home or ensuring whanau have the information and resources necessary to have warm and healthy homes. An example of ways in which we organised to meet these needs is one weekend we organised a large get together where children were welcome, and whanau tried different recipes made from whole foods that are affordable and nutritious. There were workshops at the gathering teaching about exercise at home, healthy eating, home insulation and I facilitated a discussion on keeping a home dry during winter.

A little bit about me.

My wife and I have 3 children Boysie age 9, Iraira age 8 and Dallin age 7. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, camping and spending time with my Children in Nature. When I am not with my family I enjoy watching and playing sport, rugby, touch, league, volleyball, softball, tennis, pickle ball and running. Sports and athletics have a special place in my heart as a child who moved around a lot growing up I used sports to form and find friends and a place of belonging. When my family get the chance we love road trips and traveling, normally to the beach or mountains. If I am not outdoors or playing sport I love to eat all types of food. I have a personal preference for pizza and will often make homemade pizza at home with my children. I take pride in my multicultural ethnicity with My father being Maori and my mother being Norwegian. I had the privilege of growing up, living and traveling many places as a child all of which I believe have helped shape me into the person I am today. My early education consisted of a variety of schooling styles which included, public schools, homeschool, private schools, and eventually University. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I believe in God the eternal father and his son Jesus Christ. My greatest achievement is becoming a father to my 3 beautiful children and marrying the love of my life.
