In 2020 I sstarted Silver Fern Services in Massachussettes, USA. Origininally operating as a subcontractor on residential projects, then moving to a 50% subcontracted, 50% main contractor work flow. Silver Fern Services then relocated to North Carloina in 2022 and became qualified as a General Contractor. Silver Fern Services's target projects were major renovations/repairs and additions in the residential sector. However, our work was significantly varied.
I worked for Delphi (Commercial General Contractor) when I first moved to Massachussettes in 2019. I enjoyed my role aassiting both the estimating and project management teams. Delphi's project base included industrial, high rise, retail, and apartments.
I worked for Dempsey Construction (Commercial General Contractor) in California in 2017. I had minor roles on many projects in both the pre-construction and construction phases. However, the main project I was involved with was Von Karmen Creative Campus (VKCC). VKCC was $10+ mil civil services, landscape, building facade, and car park unpgrade to an existing (9) building office complex.
I worked for GHD part time while studying 2014-2015 and full time in 2016. I returned from California in 2017 and worked for GHD full time through to 2019. While at GHD I worked on primarily public sector projects in varying roles including Techical Design, Contract Adminstration, & Project Managment. Clients included the following District/CIty/Regional Councils, Ruapehu, Central Hawkes Bay, Palmerston North City, Wiaroa, Gisborne, Hastings & Hawke's Bay. I also worked with Tairawhiti Roads, Housing New Zealand (now Kianga Ora), & Higgins.
