I am a student at the University Of Auckland who has come home over the summer eager to find work to financially support my studies. I am passionate about people and am currently pursuing this passion by doing an undergraduate degree in psychology and criminology. My role as a kitchen assistant at the Hawke's Bay District Health Board required me to work in a team environment in order to ensure that patients get the correct meal at dinnertime and that the dishes are cleaned sufficiently for their next use. I was also required to interact with nurses, doctors and orderlies
in case of a special request for a patient or for a ward. As well as working in the hospital cafe when short-staffed. I left this position as I was moving up to Auckland to pursue my goals to attend University.

Answer customer questions and share information about products, availability, and pricing. Assist customers with prompt and polite support in person and via telephone. Manage restocking and excess inventory effectively to maintain a balanced supply and meet customer needs. Engage in friendly conversation with customers to better uncover individual needs. Listen to customer needs and desires to identify and recommend optimal products. Process customer orders and accurately handled payment transactions. Also working with loss prevention in monitoring shopper behaviour.
In my position as a Christmas casual at Glassons, I assisted with opening and closing procedures, ensuring that the store was ready for business each day of the busy holiday season. Provided high-quality customer service, making customers feel heard and looked after. My responsibilities included managing the fitting rooms, ensuring they were clean and organised, and assisting customers with their selections. As well as doing tasks in my designated zone and offering help to customers and co-workers whenever I could. I was able to process transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring customers a smooth checkout experience, which involved handling cash and card payments with care. I collaborated with team members at Glassons to meet daily sales targets and ensure customers received timely assistance. By working together, we maintained a positive and efficient shopping environment.
