As Personal Assistant to the Ambassador of Turkey and Secretary to the Embassy of Turkey, I have acquired a wealth of knowledge in the world of diplomacy. I assisted the Ambassador and other diplomats within the Embassy with personal and general administrative issues. I managed to multitask the various jobs at hand and acquired the skill to stay calm in a high-pressure environment.
Duties undertaken as Personal Assistant/Secretary at the Embassy:
• Planned local and international travel and accommodation for diplomats (vacation and business)
• Organised for relocation of diplomats to Istanbul, Turkey
• Arranged dinner and luncheon parties for the Ambassador and his spouse and other diplomats and their spouses, held at the Turkish Residence
• Contracted servicemen and secured service contracts to help with property maintenance of the Turkish Residence
• Managed household staff, activities and special functions held by the Ambassador
• Organised the Turkish National Day on a yearly basis wherein a reception of 190 guests on average attended
• Assisted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade NZ organize the ANZAC Day celebrations every year
• Advised diplomats on regulations and rules of living in New Zealand, based on the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations
