In this position I have adapted to long work hours (5:30 am to 5:30pm) and also developed my operating skills on saws, and spent a lot of time supporting the operation of finger jointers. I am also involved with physical labor tasks to do with filleting, de-filleting and stacking wood ranging from planned, to greenwood. This position has given me a lot of knowledge surrounding the remanufacturing process involving wood resources.
A team of Auckland University engineering students and I competed in the Redbull Trolley Grand Prix. I was assigned the position of head of fabrication and thus was in charge or materials used and bringing our design to life. Our concept was a Jandal, this arose due the the kiwana aspect and the never done before design. The team placed top 20 in a 53 team competition. Due to sponsors and organizing such an intricate design, this role gave me lots of leadership, organizational and fabrication experience.
