Hi, I’m a Year 12 student at St Dominic’s Catholic College in Henderson. I’m currently looking for a part-time job, mainly in customer service or cashiering. I haven’t had a paid job yet, but I’ve volunteered at Lollipops Henderson, where I helped look after kids, kept them safe, and supported their playtime and social skills. It taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, and how to work with others—especially in busy environments.
I’ve also helped out with school fundraisers at St Dominic’s, which gave me experience with organising and working as part of a team.
I’m really motivated to start working because I want to gain new skills, become more independent, and start saving for my future. I’m reliable, a fast learner, and good at communicating with people. I know I can bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic to any role, and I’m also excited to learn from the experience.
If there are any opportunities around areas such as Westgate, I’d love to hear from you. Thanks so much!
At St Dominic’s Catholic College, I’ve helped out with different fundraising events by taking part in planning and organising small tasks. I worked with other students and staff to help set things up and make sure everything ran smoothly. It was a great experience that taught me how to communicate clearly, work in a team, and be organised.
I also got to be part of school tours, where I showed parents and future students around the school. I enjoyed answering their questions and helping them feel more comfortable and welcomed. Being involved in these events helped me build confidence and people skills, and made me realise I enjoy working with others in supportive roles.
I did volunteer work for a day at Bird Barn, where I helped out with keeping the store clean and organised. I restocked shelves and made sure the product displays looked tidy and easy to see for customers. I also swept and mopped the floors, cleaned windows and wiped down surfaces at the end of the day to help keep the shop looking presentable.
One of my main tasks was helping clean the animal cages, making sure they were fresh and hygienic for the birds. It taught me how important cleanliness is when working around animals and in a customer space.
Even though it was just for a day, I picked things up quickly and was able to adapt to whatever tasks they gave me. It was a fast-paced environment, and I really enjoyed being hands-on and learning through the experience.
