A senior 3-waters infrastructure engineer with 10 years’ experience in the industry. Specialising in planning, hydraulic modelling, hydrological data monitoring & data analysis and project management. Experienced in key roles across Local Government agencies in NZ and private companies in Singapore.
Managed the flow gauging contractor’s progress, including review of proposed sites for gauge installation, general coordination, progress tracking and review of invoices.
Completed a high-level review of the data captured during the site establishment and maintenance phase, and detailed review of the draft final data (pump station logging, HVQ sites, depth only sites and rain gauge data).
Currently in the process of completing a report which is specifically aimed at professional end-users of the captured flow data, such as the hydraulic modellers involved in the Hamilton model update and calibration project.
Review of gauge installation, interim data and draft final data.
Manual calibration review, which includes checks that the calibrations undertaken are adequate to enable final-data to be produced.
Follow up on rectification of sites that failed review.
Involved in the review and update of asset data including confirmation of pump station capacities and operation and model set-up of other key ancillary structures based on available as-builts.
Currently involved in the model calibration phase, which is based on the flow gauging data undertaken in 2020 by HAL.
Involved in the detailed options assessment of the wastewater network between Cambridge Road and Christie Ave Te Awamutu which is undersized for existing and MPD scenarios.
The optioneering study involved providing review of three alternative options which are practically achievable and cost effective.
An engineer’s cost estimates were provided for the short-listed options.
Analysed viable options to upgrade the under-capacity pipeline located at Robins Road – this involved updating the existing hydraulic model with QLDC’s 2022 growth projections, and validating the flows against gauged data, prior to using the model to analyse the upgrade options.
Finally, system performance assessment was undertaken for both the existing and future scenarios plus the proposed upgrades.
Part-time secondment to support Watercare’s Inflow & Infiltration and joint Council safe networks programmes. Key activities included planning and management of field investigation teams, data review and management, liaising/ facilitation of meetings/ workshops with Council Healthy Waters and input from Watercare teams to organise associated public network remedials and providing stakeholder reporting.
Involved in the assessment of the impact of the proposed developments on the wastewater network. This involved refinement of the current and future model scenarios, and options assessment for the network upgrade and optimisation. This involves the use of ICM modelling software and ArcGIS.
Involved in the assessment of the infrastructure and the increase in runoff resulting from the proposed/ planned developments in the township and recommended measures to mitigate the effects.
Pressure Management of the Fresh Water Distribution System (Water Supplies Department, Hong Kong)
Managed the development of the hydraulic network models using H2O Map Water Software for the fresh water distribution system in Hong Kong. These models were used to design the most appropriate pressure management and continuous monitoring schemes for the distribution system in order to reduce water leakage.
Presented the calibrated models and the detailed pressure management schemes for the distribution system during a 3 day presentation and workshop in Hong Kong organised for the WSD staff.
Feasibility Study for the construction of a Hazardous Waste Incineration Plant in Singapore
Analysed the long-term market attractiveness of Singapore's hazardous waste management industry by developing a Waste Input-Output Model (based on Wassily Leontief's IO Model) of the industrial hazardous waste in Singapore.
Prepared a feasibility study report for construction of a 120 tonnes/day hazardous waste incineration plant.
Carried out the upgrade and calibration of the wastewater network models which were built using H2O Map Sewer modelling software package for two of the Townships in Thames. The updated network model was used to analyse the system performance and several options were recommended in order to mitigate the surcharging issues found in the system.
Involved in the amalgamation of the wastewater network models of eight different catchments within the Manukau City. The amalgamated model was used to produce the system performance report for both present and future scenarios.
Managed the contractors during internal and position survey of the assets within the study area for both wastewater and stormwater networks. Preparation of progress reports for the clients, detailed site maps for the contractors and performance quality checks on the surveyed data.
Integrated Catchment Study (Metrowater)
Modelled the wastewater, stormwater and overland flow path within the study area using the DHI hydraulic modelling package, MOUSE, and used the model to prepare System Performance and Flood Hazard Mapping reports.
Developed the asset management plan for the six wastewater treatment plants in CHBDC.
Involved in the implementation of the wastewater discharge monitoring plan and data collection and analysis of the results from the monitoring sites.
Provided assistance to the Project Manager during the design, supervision and contract management phase of the stormwater network upgrade work in Waipakurau and Waipawa Townships.
