Summary

My personal philosophy is to practice nursing in a way that promotes an environment that maximises client safety, independence and quality of life and health. I aim to provide evidence based individual nursing care drawing upon my knowledge, experience, research and reflective practice. I have enjoyed an evolving nursing career that has led me to be passionate about nursing within the community and challenging myself with further education along the way. I have completed postgraduate study obtaining a Certificate in Palliative Care in 2015 – 2016 and a Diploma in Advanced Nursing following this.

I am a driven and hardworking registered nurse bringing demonstrated patient care, medication monitoring and treatment management expertise. I am adaptable and resilient with strong attention to detail and clinical expertise. I am seeking to maintain a full-time position that offers professional challenges utilising interpersonal skills, excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

Specialist Palliative Care Nurse

Hospice Mid - Northland

  • Specialist community palliative, and educator in a rural setting
  • I am part of a small dynamic multi disciplinary team that provides care and support to clients facing a terminal illness within their own home
  • I provide support and education to clinical staff at the local hospital by way of a nurse liaison role.
  • Recognises and understands specific stages of dying process, providing comfort-based care during vulnerable times.
  • Uses first-hand knowledge and clinical expertise to advocate for patients under hospice care and with prescribed treatment strategies.
  • Facilitates therapeutic communication, conflict resolution and crisis intervention and help patients/families regain or improve coping abilities.
